Pregnancy insomnia - end of my tether

Hi all,

I’ve had pregnancy insomnia in this pregnancy since about 25 weeks. I’m now 37. It’s now making me miserable and nervous.

im up from 3am ish until 6am when I promptly fall asleep only to be woken by my darling toddler within the next 45 mins.

i can’t lie in as she needs to go to nursery/I need to work/hubby can’t do everything whilst I snooze.

I’ve tried everything, reading, not reading, messing on my phone (aka reading Mumsnet), not touching my phone, changing positions, lying still, having a warm drink, not having anything to drink, doing a small activity!

im going to bed about 10 but not falling asleep until about 11! I can’t stand this much longer as I’m chronically tired before the baby even arrives!!!

any pearls of wisdom or advise anyone can offer I might not have thought of?

thanks
xxx

Ugh I have no advice as I am in the exact same boat as you at 36 weeks :(

I go to bed at 9 but don’t actually fall asleep until atleast 12, then it’s broken and I’m waking up every 30 mins until 4am! Then from 4-6 I get 2 hours but wake up at 6 and then my DD wakes up at 7 so that’s that. Currently functioning on about 3 hours sleep a night. It’s killing me.

I do try to have an hour nap in the afternoon which I can fall asleep no problem! Bloody pregnancy insomnia!

No advice, but in the same position. Been awake since 4am today 😭 been blaming stress but maybe it's just pregnancy Sad

same boat here ! reading everyone's comments sounds very similar to me. I used to try not to nap during the day to make sure I got a sleep at night but it still happens regardless so if I'm ever not working and have the chance to nap I just do it now ! however it's not very useful advice for night time sleep 😫

33 weeks and have one bad night, awake at 2-6am, then I’m up and working on my laptop, then the following night sleep quite well through sheer exhaustion. Lack of sleep brings on anxiety which I never get if I’m well rested 😖
