Fainting during pregnancy

Has anyone experienced fainting during pregnancy?

I'm 9.5 weeks and feeling generally fine, no morning sickness and only a little bit tired.

Tonight while doing my injections (IVF pregnancy) I fainted.

Will ring the midwife/doctor tomorrow to mention it, but wondered if anyone else had experienced it?

I have a lot of anxiety around this pregnancy as it took such a long time to get pregnant 😞

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I didn't have ivf but yes, when I was pregnant with my first child I was dropping all over the show.

Congratulations and good luck with your pregnancy 💖

I fainted during a blood test when pregnant with DS - only once and its never happened since.

Hopefully you'll get some reassurance tomorrow :-)

I fainted today at 14 weeks. My blood pressure just crashed. If worried could you call your midwife?

Pregnancy did weird things to my blood pressure. I fainted on a bus, and another time when I was waiting for a bus I felt a bit dizzy and then just sagged to the wet ground. Very embarrassing both times. That was in the early 70s and my doctor told me to eat more salt!

Thank you for your reassurances, sounds like it's a normal thing though quite scary! I burst into tears afterwards.

Fingers crossed for no fainting in public incidents, especially with all this wet weather. I can imagine that does feel very embarrassing 😳

I had a few near faints, had to quickly drop down to the floor before I fell down ! It was my blood pressure dropping. I was told to eat often and drink lots of water

Yeah completely normal unfortunately. Try and know your triggers and avoid them is what I'd suggest.

Drinkinggreentea · 07/09/2022 17:43

Wow, so surprised everyone is saying this is normal! I think you need to get your bloods tested just in case.

Yup! I fainted for the first time in my life when I was 8ish weeks with my first and often get faint/dizzy spells in pregnancy (currently in my third and had them with all) I'd ask your midwife to do a blood test for low iron, that's what usually causes mine but it is a common thing in early pregnancy as baby is taking directly from you while the placenta fully forms

I spoke with the nurse the next morning and she said it's very normal and nothing to worry about. She said they'd see me if I wanted, but she didn't have any concerns.
