Subchorionic Haematoma

Has anyone had this? I am 9 weeks pregnant and have started bleeding (red blood) and cramping. I am expecting the worse 😞 but remembered at my early scan at 6wk6 the sonographer mentioned I had a subchorionic haematoma. She said that it was common and not something to worry about although a bit of googling tells me that it can cause early bleeding.

Any experiences of this?

Hey @tulipsunday!

First of all I'm sending you a big hug as I know how terrifying this will be for you.

With my second baby I had bleeding at 13 weeks which was a 6cm Hematoma... I bled on and off until 18 weeks and it was fully resolved by my 20 week scan. Hang in there, take it easy, drink lots of water and orange juice and avoid sex/an orgasm.

My baby is now almost 4 months old 💙

@tulipsunday I had a SCH after IVF - big bleed sometime around the 5 week mark, thought it was all over, early scan showed SCH and repeat scan 1 week later showed it had started to coagulate. I was told by clinic they'd expect it to be gone by the time of my 12 week scan, which it was. I only had bleeding for couple of days. I'm 39 weeks pregnant and no other complications or bleeding since.

Its scary when you have a big red bleed but things can be ok x

Thank you both. Feeling scared but helpful to hear about other experiences. Didn't experience any bleeding at all with my son so this is all new to me. Ironically feel much more 'pregnant' this time round but hard not to think the worst.
Thanks again for the support
