Hope you’re ok x
was there pain? Was is all there was or was there more blood? What was the advice when you called your midwife?

WonderWoop · 28/08/2022 15:30

I don't want to give you false hope but I had a large red bleed at 8 weeks and all was fine. Am now 15w.

Markygirl1995 · 28/08/2022 15:30

@frenchie4002 Thank you for replying, they said to leave a message for epu unless bleeding gets heavy. Was just this blood then spots in cm no pain x

I had a heavy bleed at 11 weeks after a run - went to A&E and couldn’t get a scan for a couple of days. They said it could go either way but was a good sign I had no pain.

It was a very difficult 2 days but we just tried to have faith LO was ok until we knew otherwise.

Thankfully at scan all was well and they couldn’t see a cause for the bleed. I’m now 39 weeks.

Just wanted to share that even a heavy bleed can be benign. I hope you have a positive outcome.

Markygirl1995 · 28/08/2022 15:51

@Merryclaire thank you ❤️❤️

A painless bleed does tend to be less worrying, they even told me that when I first called the EPU. I had a massive bleed at 11 weeks (blood pouring out of me like a tap) which was due to a subchorionic hematoma. It all turned out fine. It's difficult waiting, I know OP.

Markygirl1995 · 28/08/2022 17:56

@teezletangler Thank you xx

I had a similar bleed at 11 weeks with bright red blood. Everything was fine on scan and I'm now 37 weeks. Hope it's a similar situation for you OP. I would hope with no pain and no further bleeds it will work out similar for you.

Markygirl1995 · 28/08/2022 19:04

@MyloC thank you, only got the odd bit in cm that’s it now very strange

I hope you're ok.
It's hard to know unless you get checked out. I have had a bleed where I miscarried but I had a lot of pain too, like my uterus vibrating non stop.

Another where I had dark brown blood (no pain) but I had miscarried again.

Then a pregnancy where I had a big bleed, like really quite big, i went to get checked out, I was convinced I'd miscarried but I didn't and she's here now.

It's hard to tell sometimes. I don't think you can get an earlier scan with NHS but you could get a private one? They're around £50ish.
Hope you're ok. I know how stressful and worrying something like this is.

Markygirl1995 · 28/08/2022 19:58

@noisymcqueen Hey thank you for replying, I get what you’re saying it could mean anything :/ I’ve had 2 scans already one at 6 weeks and another at 8 where I heard the heartbeat. I am meant to be having a scan Friday for my 12 weeks I just don’t think I can wait that long without being paranoid

noisymcqueen · 28/08/2022 20:28

@Markygirl1995
Oh I know the wait will feel so long. You could contact them to ask if there are any cancellations so you can go sooner.
If you do wait until Friday, just try to take good care of yourself. It's really hard to not think the worst but it all might be ok.
I remember with my last pregnancy going for scans a lot. I was so anxious and worried because of my previous losses, I had around 12 scans during this pregnancy (half the hospital gave due to the losses and my anxiety). If you called them to explain, they might try to squeeze you in sooner. I hope it all goes ok x

Sounds weird but when wiping I’m not bleeding but checking for cervix and cm there’s blood then if that makes sense

Madmax1992 · 29/08/2022 08:08

I had a few bleeds with my last pregnancy, one was quite heavy ...usually after sex, all was OK but it turned out I had a cervical ectropian..I'd say no pain or clots is always a good sign. Try to rest xx

Bella9992 · 29/08/2022 21:04

I've had similar bleeding at 8, 10 and 13 weeks. Had scans and everything has been OK so far (now 15 weeks) and they can't find any sign of what's causing the bleeding so have concluded it might be irritated cervix. Good luck.

Nejnej2 · 29/08/2022 21:10

Your cervix is super sensitive at this time. I had a slightly bigger bleed than yours looks at 13 weeks, dating scan the next day was completely fine and midwife thinks it was likely because we DTD the night before and irritated the cervix.
Now 26 weeks with no further bleeding :)

Beseen22 · 29/08/2022 21:11

I've bled with my first a proper hemmorhage, DH found me lying in a pool of blood. It was a haematoma where the placenta meets the wall of the uterus and he is now 5. Pregnant with number 3 now and had a week of brown blood and constant 6/10 period like cramps and so far scan showed heartbeat and all good.

Obviously bleeding is not a good sign but it's not always the worst case scenario. If the bleeding is settling that would reassure me a litte. Also if you have seen a heartbeat the chance of miscarriage goes way down. Hope you get a scan for tomorrow 😘

Markygirl1995 · 30/08/2022 11:01
