Are these pains normal at 5 weeks pregnant?

I’ve been getting pain on right hand side of my abdomen/uterus therefore thought I’d check my cervix to find brown discharge around it - should I be concerned or is this normal?

I had lots of cramping with #3 but none with #1 or #2.
Everything was fine with all 3. But I know how worrying it is. Call the EPU if you have one. Also: you can take paracetamol for the pain. It was so severe with #3 that I was prescribed cocodamol too. Hope you're ok. Xx

With it being such early days and brown blood I would think it's possibly some old implantation bleeding? It's impossible not to worry though and as PP said possibly call your EPU and see if they can check things over for you?

Cramping and twinges are a very normal part of pregnancy. I’ve had cramping early on with all of my pregnancies, 2 were successful and 2 were not. With one in particular with a happy outcome the cramping was horrendously bad, worse than when I had miscarried and I was convinced I was miscarrying again but everything was fine! The only pregnancy I’ve had spotting with was successful. It’s so hard to tell so early on though OP, and the waiting is definitely the worst bit. Depending on what your hosp is like you might be able to self refer to EPU at 6 weeks if you tell them you’ve had some cramping and spotting, so hopefully shouldn’t be too long to wait,
