For someone who cannot access Mumsnet.

She is 35 weeks pregnant and has the above condition. She was told rather abruptly by her consultant that she may haemorrhage and then bleed to death. This consultant wants to to change to a different consultant as he wants to pass the responsibility onto someone else.

The earliest date they have offered her for a section is the 6th of February. She could book herself into hospital until then, but she has 2 small children at home and no-one to look after them for her.

She is suffering from ante-natal depression because of the stress and the consultants and hospital are being extremely unhelpful and unsympathetic. They've basically told a pregnant mum that she'll probably haemorrage at home and bleed to death.

Any advice would be very very gratefully received and we'll make sure she gets the advice asap.

Good. You sound better than you did yesterday - I hope that's the case. Is that Thursday as in tomorrow that she'll be back in touch? Stick like glue with that midwife until you get what you need. There are some consultants who may be great medics but are a complete liability when it comes to their communication skills.

Yes it does mean thurs as in tomoz, i hope. The consultant she was telling me about is female and hopefully more understanding to my situation.

There's not much room for her to be worse is there! I hope she reassures you - second consultation really helped me. Is there anyone you can take along?

Hi emmiebb! Nice to "meet" you finally, heard many lovely things about you!

Just wanted to pass on my best wishes. Please do use Mumsnet now you have a chance, we are all very supportive and lots of mothers on here with different experiences. Sounds like you could do with a little support right now.

At the end of the day, as much as you want your unborn baby to survive, you need to look after you. Your children need you. So please do all you can to ensure that you are safe and make the right decisions that will save your life.

I truly hope that everything goes well for you. Very best of luck and please do let us know what happens. xxx

good to hear from you emmiebb. keep posting, fingers crossed for you that you get a human consultant. They do exist, honestly.
And BTW, you still have the "other" option should you feel very very pissed off (though I am sure I shouldn't really be suggesting this...but I've done it) just turn up at the hosp of your choice if even the slightest thing goes wrong. They have to deal with you, they can not refuse and as long as you have all your hand-held notes and info that you have is written down re previous pgs, then the formalities of gp and letters will just have to go to xxxxxx.

Keep posting. we're all with you.

Oh, some more advice here as I posted this in childbirth too.
