Feeling so rough in first trimester

I'm nearly 7 weeks so still a long way to go! But the past few days have been a real struggle. I've had a throbbing headache that just won't budge and constantly feeling nauseous.

I can't even just lie down and rest as I have a lively toddler!

Any tips to get through it? I know it should improve around 12 weeks but that feels like forever away.

Feel for you @eatsleeprepeat123. I found weeks 7-9 the toughest so far - my symptoms started lifting slowly at 11 weeks. Still very tired now at 12 but the nausea is nearly gone - thank god, and I am getting some more energy. Rest as much as you possibly can - is there anyone who could help atm? I found some consolation in the strength of the symptoms this time, as had a MMC in my last pregnancy and the nausea/tiredness wasn't anything like this. It WILL get better. Be kind to yourself x

I really feel for you. Weeks 6-8 were just the worst for me in terms of nausea and tiredness. It will get better! Things that helped me were 1) focusing on the fact that the nausea is because your body is producing a whole host of hormones to grow a beautiful and healthy baby. I know it sounds corny, but it did help to remind myself that my symptoms weren't indicative that anything was "wrong". 2) Drop things that aren't important - I cancelled most social plans and the house was a tip. 3) Tell someone about your pregnancy and how you're feeling. I know some like to wait till after the first trimester but if you can confide in a close friend and have a moan about how crap you're feeling then that can help. They could also take your toddler for a couple of hours so you can have a break 4) Treat yourself in any way you can. Again it's small things, but get yourself the food you're craving, watch the TV you want to watch and be a bit selfish. 5) Lean on your partner for support and offload more on to them for the time being! My thoughts are really with you right now. I honestly felt so close regretting the fact I was pregnant I felt so sick. But if will be totally worth it 😍

Thanks both!

My DH is really good at helping out, but obviously during the week he is working so limited with what he can do!

Today was a bad day, I'm hoping tomorrow will be better. It's the headaches that get me - just constant and very draining. Really gets me down as not sure how I'll handle another 5 weeks of this. The nausea comes in waves which I can handle!
