Can a baby turn breech at 33 weeks

I’m pretty sure my baby has been head down for a while - I’ve been feeling kicks under my ribs, hiccups down low and also loads of pressure. However, the pressure has now really lightened and I’m feeling all the movements really down low with lots of painful jabs to the cervix which I’m guessing are kicks rather than punches because he they’re so painful. Also the rib kicking has stopped for the past couple of days.

I’m 33 weeks tomorrow, could baby have turned breech this late? I thought this was the time they should be turning head down??

Not super common but certainly possible. I’m 35 weeks pregnant and until 34 weeks baby was breech. Then they turned head down for a few days and the midwife has confirmed they’re now breech again :( so they can still move about at this late stage.

i had a scan one day at 37 weeks where my baby was head down. The next day I had my elective c section and he came out breech much to everyone’s surprise - so I would say yes, they can turn that late on!

Oh no! I assumed they could only turn to go head down at this point.. apparently not! I have my 34 week appointment on Thursday so I’ll ask my midwife to have a good feel around. I’m worried that they will think baby’s head is a bum and I’ll be an undiagnosed breech. Can you request a scan to confirm? Although I guess baby could flip again even if I do get a scan like @WixNaf

Yes! My baby was transverse until around 35 weeks, then went head down, then went breach, then ended up transverse again! I only know as I was having weekly scans at the end! Xxx

I had weekly scans with my twins. Last one was at 36+5 and DT1 was breech. I was booked in for an ELCS at 38wks, but we agreed that if I felt him turn they'd scan me and induce instead if he had. I felt nothing, so we decided to take the first section of the day rather than wait for a scan as it seemed so unlikely he'd have turned without me feeling it. He had though and was beautifully in position! DT2 had also turned without me knowing (and was now breech).

Until 38 weeks my baby was breech. It turned 2 days before my waters broke.
I did a moxibustion (using moxa stick) for couple of weeks and it did a trick- the baby turned!

I just had my midwife appointment and baby is head down 😅 I’ve also been referred for a growth scan because my bump is measuring small so that’ll confirm it - although now after reading your replies I realise that baby can still turn breach even after confirming head down from a scan.

My midwife did say that baby has engaged so does that make it less likely baby will turn breach? Or not? It’s my second baby which means baby can unengage
