I'm 24 weeks pregnant, just been diagnosed with GD. Had an appointment to see the diabetic team yesterday. Whilst there they checked blood pressure, urine etc..

Nothing at all was said at the time but after looking at my notes I've seen that my blood pressure was 150/73.

Is that high? I have text my community midwife but have not heard anything back yet.

I assumed everything was OK as they didn't mention anything but i'm concerned.

From the nhs

Blood pressure

That would be considered high. I suffer with high blood pressure and they set my target to be at 130/80 and I take medication for it 4x a day.

Most gp surgeries have a BP monitor you can use at the practice. Call yours and see if they have one in the waiting room.

Try to do a few readings - leave a gap of a couple of minutes between each one and try to stay calm. Deep breaths and no talking while the machine is on.

That may have been a one off high reading due to the stress of being at the clinic.

Also for your GD - if you haven't already join the GD UK fb group and have a look at their website.

Yes that is high. Especially with GD. They have lower thresholds for BP when you have GD. That certainly needs checking again - like other PPs have said you can go to a GP surgery, a chemist or maybe if you have one at home? I'd definitely follow this up with the MW.

I had Gd in my last pregnancy too so I know what I'm doing with that. It's under control.

Midwife isn't concerned about the BP reading, she said they only class it as high when both numbers are high... However I have just a ordered a monitor so that I can keep a check on it at home as I'm not convinced.
