Baby measuring small, one week behind at 15+3

Hi, I had a private reassurance scan today at 15+3 and based on measurements of head circumference and femur length the baby is measuring about one week behind at 14+4. The sonographer said there's nothing to worry about as everything else looked ok but I can't help feeling anxious and worried. Especially we were planning on telling the family about the pregnancy this weekend as we haven't told anyone yet, including DD!

I did have a low PAPP-A score from NHS blood test at 12 weeks and have been taking baby aspirin. Just wondering if anyone has had similar experience and the baby caught up on growth later on? And what were you advised to do other than being closely monitored? Thanks in advance.

Hello! How are you getting on? I’ve had a very similar experience at my 15 week private scan today, with head measuring a week behind. It has really worried me but I can’t find anyone having the same experience! Hope you’re getting on ok. X

Hi @LSv2307 I'm doing ok, thank you. I asked the midwife at the 16wk check-up but she wasn't concerned at all. Due to my low PAPP-A score, I've been booked additional growth scans from 28wk. Like you I was very worried and anxious and can't stop Googling but I've since joined a Facebook low PAPP-A group where many women share similar experiences. It has been very helpful especially reading all the positive stories. I'm now just waiting for the 20wk scan which will be in two weeks at 21wk. Still a bit nervous tbh.

Were you told about your PAPP-A score at 12wk? In my case the low score is definitely a contributing factor as it could cause fetal growth restriction. Hope you're ok. X
