Pregnant with 2nd at 41

I still cannot believe that I am posting this. After having one child and regretting it and trying to get pregnant I finally am quite unexpectedly and I am now terrified. There will be a 12 yr age gap between the two. DC has categorically said they like being an only child and DH says its up to me- he would rather not but he will support my decision. We are both in our 40s. This will push back our retirement by 12 yrs atleast. Anyone been in a similar situation?

4 years....(we started late for various reasons).

This is almost identical to my sibling/parent situation, if I were your youngest child, ages gaps and all! My mum already had 3 kids when she met my dad. I was unplanned (but never unwelcome) by siblings were roughly between 11 and 16 years older than me when I was born. My mum was 36 and my dad was 31 though so not quite the same but can vouch for the doting older siblings! I'm also 26 now so my siblings are late 30s early 40s. It's nice for me to have siblings who've done it all who I can go to outside of my parents for advice if I need!
