Hi guys. I'm 5 weeks and since finding out I'm pregnant I've had intermittent dull / achey / tender pain low down on my right side every now and then. It comes for a while and will basically throb every few seconds for a while then it goes away for a few hours. I'm obviously worried about ectopic but I haven't had severe pain there and have had other stretching and crampy burrowing feelings more centrally Iin my lower abdomen so I'm hoping this is the embryo and it's in the right place. No other symptoms that could indicate ectopic. Pretty sure I ovulated from this side and felt ovulation happen too so could it be the corpus luteum maybe?

I've called epau but they're busy and may not get back to me quickly. Just wondering if others have had this and what it could be? Should I be worried about possible ectopic? 😬

@Hopewills24 I just had my 7 week scan and everything looks great. I am sooo happy and sooo relieved.

All the best with your pregnancy. Take care🥰

@Crazylicious delighted for you!! Xxxx

Did you ever find out what the pain was? I am having the exact same feelings at 5w1d - worrying constantly! Like yours it is very mild and being so early I don't think anyone would see me. Have an early private scan in 10 days so eagerly awaiting that date!

@Littlebear14 hello! I was just on Mumsnet and this popped up as I was looking at notifications 🙂 I'm 15 weeks pregnant now. I think the pain was probably my ovary pumping out hormones, as the egg was released from that sign. I'm not entirely sure but it went away quite soon after it was troubling me!

Hope all is well with you - I'm sure the scan will be reassuring!

Oh I'm so glad to hear that 😊 thanks for replying! I am such a worrier and cannot stop googling. There is no info anywhere about one sided pain apart from ectopic! Glad to hear everything is going well for you

I think early pregnancy has loads of niggles and often on one side or the other... Stretching pains etc. If you're worried there is no harm in calling your hospital early pregnancy unit and asking to be checked over!

@Littlebear14 look up corpus luteum cyst that might give you some peace of mind 😊

Thank you for this! It definitely could be this. I will keep my fingers crossed 😊
