Feel pressured to get Covid vaccine... 13 weeks

So I'm 13 weeks 1 day. I've had two covid jabs before I was pregnant, I am NOT an anti vaxx person at all. I've had nearly every vaccine offered to me. I will be having my whooping cough vaccine at 16 weeks.

I was offered my booster covid jab at 12 weeks but refused as I just feel a bit uneasy getting the covid jab while pregnant, I know how silly that may sound but it just scares me. I was fine with my first covid jab but very I'll with my second jab which is why I never got the booster in the end. Ever since I feel like I've been pressured by the midwife to get the booster jab, despite me refusing. I've just said I would think about it. I don't really know what to do? Pros/cons? Did you have it when pregnant?

I don't want to be bashed for not getting the booster, I do believe covid is still around. I wear a mask everywhere I go and have done since the beginning. I just hate the pressure and hate feeling like I'm putting my baby at risk because that's absolutely not what I want but at the same time I'm scared of the risk of the covid jab while pregnant and what affect that will have on my baby. I will get the booster once I've given birth if I decide against it when pregnant; I just feel so unsure.

Hi OP. I'm currently 34 weeks and I luckily had all my vaccines before I was pregnant, however I absolutely would not have had any during pregnancy and can understand your concern.

Just to say I have had all vaccines and boosters and I caught covid while 23 weeks pregnant and I was really poorly so I'm not sure how effective they really are anyway.

Eh. You didn’t die, did you, so how can you deduce that because you were ‘really poorly’, that the vaccines may not be effective! What a daft comment. I was really Ill when pregnant with Covid and was just grateful I’d had my vaccinations as I can only imagine how desperately sick I would have been without them, I may have ended up on a ventilator or worse.

I have this rock, it keeps away bears. It's really effective, see I have the rock now, do you see any bears here? See, the rock works.

@DangerouslyBored I had covid when pregnant and it was milder than a common cold. My main symptom was a runny nose. Unvaccinated. Therefore I wouldn't assume that being vaccinated is what stopped you from being even more ill.

Never knowingly had covid. Had both jabs in my pregnancy. First at 15 weeks and second one 3ish months after.
I would have had my booster too but with my due date so close I didn’t want to feel too rubbish as well as trying to give birth!
my baby is nearly 6 months old and absolutely fine and healthy and I was really pleased knowing he had some antibodies passed to him during pregnancy.
in fact my partner got covid when our baby was 3 month old. He was so so unwell, I was relieved I’d had the jabs as there was no way if the two of us were ill we’d have been able to look after our son.

Im 13 weeks and at my midwife appt i felt under pressure to get the covid jab. I felt really judged when i said i wasnt sure and would think about it. Like you i will be getting my whooping cough vax at 16 weeks. Dh and i had been trying for a very long time. Due to the mixed messaging in the beginning about pregnancy and the covid vax, i have always felt its a risk im not prepared to take (appreciate some will find that ironic but hey). I have not had any covid vaccines and will not have it throughout my pregnancy. Iv never tested positive for covid but dh has had it twice and im 95% sure i had it the 2nd time as i had all the symptoms but pcr testing had stopped at that point so i cant be sure as pcr was negative. Do what you feel is best op. Dont be forced to do something you are uncomfortable with but equally dont be embarrassed to change your mind.

My friend lost her baby after getting covid whilst pregnant. It caused a blood clot which blocked the blood supply to the baby.
