Experience with Clary Sage?

Does anyone have any experience of using Clary Sage to help bring on labour/pain relief during early labour? I'm 41 weeks now and fed up. A friend suggested clary sage oil which I'm going to give ago. Did it help any of you?

I tried it and ended up being induced at 42 weeks as she was not for coming out haha. I was willing to give anything a go as I was fed up, it smells ok so always worth a go :-)

Didn't work for me unfortunately, DS decided to start making his way out at 41+4 when induction was scheduled for 41+5 Grin

I’m pretty sure you’re only supposed to use in labour but I did use it before along with virtual everything else to avoid a planned c section at 39 weeks. I had an intense labour, contractions in the first stage lasting 3 mins with 1 min apart which I think was weirdly easier to handle.

I thought it smelt vile.

Did nowt for me except make my whole hospital bag reek like a witch's gusset. Every time I smell that scent now I remember being in labour Confused

It just gave me a really bad headache.

I used it in the bath - on my pillow - in the diffuser! I quite liked the smell and it did make me feel nice and calm but I don’t know if it really helped bring on labour, just kept me relaxed during labour.
