Can anyone advise whether it's safe to have a back, neck & shoulder massage in the first trimester (I'm 6+2) and if there's anything I should be avoiding relating to it? Thanks

No issues as far as I know, I had 2 full body at the beginning of my pregnancy (I get regular massages, every 2 months). Just tell the masseuse so they can adjust technique if necessary. I couldn't go later as my belly was already out at 12 weeks or so and my regular lady has no pregnancy massage table. I went at 39 weeks to someone else for a pregnancy massage.

I would definitely mention it to your masseuse so they can adapt the massage. I'm going to a spa at the weekend and they said the only treatment I can have is a facial. I'm sure they are just being overly cautious though xx

I went for a massage at 8 weeks and they said they couldn't touch me until I was 12 weeks. She was so apologetic and offered to do my nails instead.

Definitely tell them you're pregnant, they'll be able to advise what they can and can't do for you

definitely tell them. My regular massage place won’t touch you before 12 weeks unless they’re trained in pregnancy massage and even then sometimes I’ve been places that have signs saying they won’t do one until your first trimester is over

Thank you all, in trying to avoid telling people!! But I guess I have to. I've already had to cancel a hair appointment. Frustrating, but definitely worth it!!
