Using Ergobaby at 11 weeks pregnant

Hi all - I have to take my toddler (15 months) to a hospital appointment in central London. The easiest way is going to be to use my ergobaby baby carrier and get public transport - do you think it’s okay to carry him on the front given that I am 11 weeks? Maybe I am overthinking things.

Yes, it’s fine.

At 11 weeks, I would have struggled with enough energy for this, and a hospital trip is draining. I would take the pushchair.

TFL website has a search option for accessible journeys. Or you could hail a black cab as they are big enough for pushchairs.

I would say so as long as his legs don't hit your stomach.

Alternatively get black can and take pram

At 15 months i was wearing DD in the carrier on my back. Fair play to any women who can still do front wearing, by 8 months DD was way too big/heavy/awkward shape to have on my front

I'd say take the pram?

Allow a bit longer for your journey and change tube lines at the bigger stations where there are lifts- as pp said, you can search the tfl website for this fairly easily.

Thanks all for your replies. I was considering getting a black cab there with the pram, but the appointment is in Harley Street in one of those buildings with lots of stairs and no lift, so I thought having to carry the pram upstairs might be worse than a bit of walking with the carrier (5 mins on my side and then 10 mins on the other). But maybe it would be worth just taking the pram.

Back carry! And make sure you're wearing comfy before setting off.

I'd do ergo on your back too. Will be fine

mrsfoof · 04/08/2022 10:11

Ergo on front will be absolutely fine. The foetus is tiny and well protected in the womb. Your toddler will not harm it (I carried my toddler in my 2nd pregnancy until it was physically too uncomfortable/ impossible once the bump was bigger. I have the same age gap between my babies as you will).

Will be fine. And easier than buggy to get around.
