How likely is it for a c-section date to change?

Got my section date a week ago, having it at 37+1 due to issues. I was told by consultant that the date I got would be the latest I'd go based on my next scan and babys growth.

So if babys growth stopped dropping it would be the date I received already, if babys growth dropped again it would be sooner- had scan today and they were happy with babys growth so obviously the early delivery didn't apply anymore however they said I'll have no more scans as will be too close to section date.

Other than on the day emergencies etc what's the chance of someone else stepping in and cancelling my section? Or going to the pre-assessment and them querying why I'm there and cancel the section?

Seems silly I know but I'm just glad to have a date and so now naturally I'm worried about it being taken away 😂 especially as I only see my midwife once more and I don't see anymore consultants or anything

When I was expecting dd1, my Csection date was changed once I'd got to hospital, been prepped for surgery, the had the final exam by the obstetrician! I'd told everyone she would be born on the 2nd and then had to go home again 😬

The reason I was told I had to have a Csection in the first place was that I had a demoid cyst which was apparently blocking the birth canal, but the obstetrician thought I didn't need the section and could go into labour and give birth naturally!

When my consultant found out what had happened, she booked me straight in for another date (10th so 8 days later). And that is when I had her. It was 39+5 by then.

With dd2 I was told if I went into labour naturally before my Csection date, then I would have to try and deliver her myself 😯 Thankfully, she stayed put until that date. It was 39+2.

If there's a medical reason and a consultant has put that date in place to support it, I find it unlikely that it will change. I had a high risk pregnancy with a planned c section at 37 weeks and there was never any question that the pregnancy would go further than this. It ended up being earlier than planned so didn't need to find out mind you. If any questions were asked, could you ask whoever was to ask them to contact the consultant who has been making the decisions?
