Just been told I have this. Baby was weighing an estimated 3.8lbs at 29 weeks.
Don't know anything about it or what I can and can't eat anymore.

Any info would be great !

Absolutely gutted about the oranges 😩 only just had one !! Gona take some getting used to this is. Thankful for Mumsnet at times like these.

@Mycatsgoldtooth how big was your baby ?

I had a scan Tuesday while doing the test and she is 3.8lbs so fairly big already.

@Pandabuggle yes I'm due the 10th. Yeah I'm sure we'll get the hang of it, it's just hard as I know absolutely nothing about Diabetes ! But I guess that's where my love for reading can come in ! I'm also on blood thinners but I inject heparin.

I was on metformin for years due to pcos but when I got to 12 weeks they took me off it.

Btw I am consultant led and I was told I'm now going to have a new consultant because of this diagnosis, is this normal practice does anyone know ?

Yes to having a new consultant. I was under 1 for high BMI & then changed as the Diabetes "overruled" the weight.

On the plus side if you are overweight like I was it may help you lose weight. I continually dropped weight from the "diet" & 2 weeks post birth I was lighter than I was at my booking in appointment!

Also don't use hand gel before doing the tests it sends the results way up!

@CaptainCarp My bmi was 22 at booking appointment but I'm now 12 stone lol I was 9.5 stone !

I was awaiting a consultant appt due to high BMI. I've been monitoring weight at home as knew this would be a cause for concern after previous pregnancy (it's always nice to hear the shock in healthcare voices when your BP is spot on, they never expect it) been much more active this time around and been under my booking weight since 14 weeks. I think last time after birth I dropped 1.5-2st would be nice!
