35 weeks and tested positive for Covid

Hello everyone,

just wanted to ask if anyone tested positive for covid at around 35 weeks?

did they require you to inject blood thinners?

I only have sore throat, a little bit if cold and tiredness, but no other symptoms.

I am 28 years old, a good BMI, no blood clots history, but I was wondering why they suggested me to inject blood thinners?

thank you!

There’s a couple of recent posts under Covid section on this. I think blood thinners are being offered as a precaution as blood clots can happen with little or no warning.

I'm 35 weeks and tested positive at the weekend. Same in terms of BMI and clot risk. I messaged the midwife and all she said was I could pick up a oximeter to keep an eye on my sats and that's it.
Think there must be some variation between areas and advice. Touchwood all okay here. Probably worth just ringing your midwife x

Yes fragmin is normal and safe.

I'm 35+6 and rested positive on Monday this week. Very rapid decline and since been on HDU on a maternity ward. I am getting better now but it was very scary last night.

I'm also on Fragmin. The explanation I was given is that pregnancy makes your blood sticky, but so does Covid, so both these things increase the risk of blood clots.

Hope you feel better soon!
