I've throughougly enjoyed all the "what I hate about pregnancy" threads on here recently, esp as I'm having a very hard time (35+4 2nd pg) and feeling sorry for myself. But thought a more positive thread, might be fun also.

So wanted to know, what has saved you from insanity in your pregnancy?

For me, the two very nice of jogging pants I invested in early on, that were a bit pricey, but sooooo worth it as still have their shape are sooo comfy and I live in them now (...that I've grown out of everything else - er-hem !!)

Also, just started reading again, The Fat Ladies Club. Read it in first pregnancy for education purposes and loved it. Found it on bookshelf the other day and was exactly what I needed. Very comforting and very funny, when I'm feeling knackered, huge, isolated, and like the whole world except me is drunk!!

oh and lastly - Haagen Das!

How about you?

MN, not worrying about how to cover a flabby stomach whilst still looking trendy and knowing I can eat whatever I like without feeling guilty! Oh and using my bump to full advantage, like crossing the road, getting a seat on the bus, having doors opened for me etc.

scaryhairycat · 18/01/2008 16:48

Will miss all that, sniff, sniff!

Good idea conkeyhead!

I have stayed sane by sharing experiences with other pg girls. It's so nice to know you're not alone! This site is fab and also meeting people through our nct antenatal classes has been great.

Otherwise - pjs and slippers, hot chocolate and tv!

And of course the thought that in around 6 weeks time we get to meet our little man! xxx

Wish I bought myself some jogging bottoms - I only have 10 days left to EDD and have now resorted to wearing my dh bottoms, and even they are tight!

merryberry · 18/01/2008 16:57

Counting down the days is helping, as are Rennies and my 2 year old rolling around the house laughing his arse off.

Otherwise I am your basic gibbering wreck.

33+6, isolated like you say. Have big birthday next week. No way to celebrate it!

conkeyhead · 18/01/2008 17:28

Well you'll just have to celebrate with HUGE amounts of cake!!! I've heard that it's full of vitamins and minerals and all the things that make unborn babies really healthy!!!!

hey merryberry - sorry to hear you're feeling isolated. I do know how you feel...

what about treating yourself to a massage or facial for your birthday? and of course loads of cake too!

merryberry · 18/01/2008 18:06

thank you that's very sweet. its just the being stuck in an ever decreasing circle of mobility, and unable to commit to plans as i keep ending up spraining something, or upchucking! not long to go now.

betterhalf · 18/01/2008 18:11

Chocolate and lots of it.

Richard Buckner albums, particularly Devotion and Doubt or Bloomed

Plug in, turn on, sanity returns.
