Low dose aspirin with low blood pressure

Hi all. Just had my first midwife appointment (7+3) and am a bit confused. Because of my age and this being my first baby and because my parents have high blood pressure I have been recommended to take low dose aspirin to prevent preeclampsia. I get why and this makes sense except immediately before this the midwife took my blood pressure which was as usual on the low end of normal. 90/53. My doctors are always shocked how consistently low my blood pressure is and with no signs of this changing should I really be taking the aspirin? Seems like an unwise added variable but the midwife just said it was standard practice. I have contacted the surgery for advice but wondered if I am just missing something about this. Thanks all!

I'm also on a low dose of asprin due to age, blood pressure usually in the low 90's. Last pregnancy it was always in the 80's, and then creeped right up at around 138 towards the end, in the last week. So although it's low now, it could change. It's not just for for blood pressure though, their are other benefits in taking it when you're an older Mum
