So I'm 17 weeks pregnant on Friday and for the last week I've been so so so itchy on my arms and legs. I've been to the doctors for blood tests and everything is normal. The doctor literally text me and said alls fine, since my bloods are normal they don't want to know but I can't take it!! Has this happened to anyone else and can offer me any tips? Thankyou 😊

Hey, congratulations on your pregnancy.

I did have itching late in pregnancy, and it was bad until about 48 hours after baby was born.

Blood results showed I was beggining with 'cholestasis of pregnancy' - have a read online. This may or may not be what your experiencing but don't just take it from your doctor that eve tithing is okay - as obvs constant itching is not normal. If you don't get anywhere with the GP, contact your midwife and see if they can help !

Hope you feel better soon. I remember just how horrible the itching was !

I am presuming by the blood test they tested you for cholestasis and you don't have that. Itching in pregnancy is pretty common, and I had it a lot in my first trimester / early second. I used epaderm cream and found it helpful and took piriton every day. It passed eventually!

I just came to say the same as the PP, I had cholestasis of pregnancy and I know the itching is a symptom. Make sure they've tested you for that. Hope you and baby are ok. X

You have my sympathy especially in this heat! I had awful itching late in pregnancy think it was called PEP (something like polymorphic eruption of pregnancy). It was initially on my bump and usually goes after birth, I had a rare case that spread over most of me and was miserable. I ended up having steroids after baby was born. Second pregnancy I started to feel itchy and I read, I think on here, about Grandpa's Old Pine Tar soap, ordered some on Amazon Prime and it seemed to work! Google the soap and look at the reviews, many similar experiences. Worth a try!

I get what the doctor calls "chronic hives" and I need to take a pharmacy purchased allergy medication usually every 3 days, but when pregnant, it's gone up to every day. It starts with tiny itchy bumps on my hands and feet, and if I don't take anything, it works its way up my arms and legs/torso. It is essentially a once a day hayfever type benadryl pill. Maybe speak to your doctor again to see what is causing it? I assume that you've ruled out the usual culprits, being washing powder which use biological agents, non bio unscented is best, and certain foods causing it i.e. eggs? Given how hot it is in the UK it's worth saying that mine gets worse if I do physical activity, or in the heat, so maybe that is making it worse? Hope you get some relief soon! Calamine lotion also might be good for you.

My liver function is all fine apparently, so really annoying me. I am getting little bumps everywhere im itching, I've tried to contact my midwife but she's only available on a Thursday. I get psoriasis too which completely disappeared in my first pregnancy but this one it's so much worse but I don't think it's linked as it's different areas. And I've stayed away from sun completely. I'll try the tar soap and see if it helps! Fingers crossed!
