Coronavirus and pregnant

Hi guys!
So I'm 20 weeks pregnant. My partner and daughter tested positive for covid on Friday. I'm yet to test positive. However, I'm starting to get a cough so I think it's anytime now I'll be positive.
Anyway I've asked my midwife if there's anything I should look out for, to contact someone immediately and told her I'd heard of some women having blood thinning injections as well as these oxygen tester things. She wasn't very helpful and was dismissive. I've also read about there being an increased risk for stillbirth and preterm labour so that's scared me 😟
So what I'm asking is for some reassurance and advice? 😊 thank you!

Hopefully you're fully vaccinated and it shouldn't be a problem. You might feel ill for a few days, you might not. Plenty of women have had COVID in their pregnancy and been absolutely fine! Some midwives/GPs seem to want to know about it, some don't so you can see how non-serious it is viewed now.

If you feel ill, rest, hydrate and lower any temperature with paracetamol, as you would with other viruses.

I've had covid twice in pregnancy, both very mild. First time I was 15 weeks and second I was 31 weeks. I did speak to a midwife the second time and she had some questionnaire to fill out which assesses risk of blood clots, but if you score under 2 on that then you don't need any treatment and should just look after yourself at home.

Keep hydrated and take paracetamol if you develop aches and pains or a fever, I'm sure you'll be ok.

Hi @charchar2102 I had covid when I was about 6 weeks and my midwife said to get my gp to prescribe fragmin blood thinning injections for 10 days. Apparently you normally get from your midwife but as I hadn't had one assigned yet I had to get from gp. I just rang them and said my midwife had told me to get them and they were happy to prescribe. Hope you feel better soon x

Oh and the preterm labour thing is more for covid in the much later stages of pregnancy, you don't have to worry about it at 20 weeks

Thanks guys! I might just call the gp tomorrow anyway to see what they have to say.
And I am fully vaccinated, I just haven't had my booster as of yet

My sil had covid twice in her pregnancy, in the first trimester and the third trimester. She wasn’t given ang injections, just rested and drank plenty of water. She kept in regular contact with her midwife and was offered 2 extra scans to check the baby. She gave birth to a very healthy little girl 10 days late!
