9 weeks pregnant after 7 miscarriages

I am 9 weeks pregnant with my 8 pregnancy and this is the longest I have ever been pregnant. I was wondering what other mommy’s to be Experienced in terms of monitoring in new pregnancies after recurrent loss?
I have always previously miscarried before 6 and a half weeks. They have put me forward for monitoring but said it could take until 16 weeks and my dating scan isn’t until 13 weeks. I feel panicked alone and completely unsupported in the most dangerous period of my pregnancy.
am I being irrational?

Very sorry to hear about all your losses that's really heartbreaking. Have you been referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic given your history? Have you been able to get progesterone prescribed? I was referred after three and it did mean that I could get my GP to prescribe progesterone, and request an early scan. Feeling very anxious is natural given everything you've been through x

I went private for recurrent miscarriage after 3 I have a bit of a clotting issue but my husband has dna damage. I can’t completely freaked out at 7 weeks two days after a pulled muscle in my stomach and got send for a scan (also after spending a week and a half nagging fir hcg monitoring) we have a heartbeat and because I wasn’t bleeding no progesterone.
my midwife appointment was pushed up and she thought I would be put on aspirin or blood thinners. Gp opted for nothing
I was getting referred by 16 weeks to obs which pardon my French but what is the bloody point (as that’s the safe zone). given that my bloods were borderline for a few clotting but not over..they may do nothing. No blood thinners and no progesterone and no referral.
I’m starting to feel like it’s the shire I live in it’s at a gp level awful
sorry for rant very stressed

For blood thinners you can just get baby aspirin but the advice is to only use it with a medical professional's advice. Can you afford maybe a private consultation with a fertility specialist if you think progesterone/blood thinners may be the answer ?
I'm sorry, it's a heartbreaking situation to be in.

@Toria33 I live in Ireland but finally had a successful pregnancy after 7 miscarriages.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. In your shoes I really would go private. I had progesterone and aspirin from ovulation and a scan every week if I wanted it which the consultant was happy to provide due to my ‘horrific obstetric history’.

I’ve been thinking the same or about calling the hospital and begging them to see me sooner. I had two gps say I should have been Monitored from week one but they aren’t my gp, who seems to be blocking me fir some reason

Hi, after 4 losses I was given progesterone & 150mg aspirin which I have taken since my bfp with this pregnancy currently 10+2 wks now, I have also been given weekly scans since 6 wks, I'm so sorry your not getting the support & care you should be getting after all you've been through, it's so wrong!! Xx

RainbowForest · 18/07/2022 09:38

Im sorry to hear of all your losses. I had similar and a clotting issue was found. I was prescribed 150mg (2x 75mg tablets) of aspiring per day and blood thinning injections. I then got pregnant and gave birth. I think you need to really need to push for the blood thinners.
I contacted my gp and they prescribed them but I was also under the recurrent miscarriage clinic and they offered to prescribe them. I had them daily throughout the whole pregnancy.
I really hope this works out for you.

Toria33 · 18/07/2022 09:41

Was this done through obstetrics or through the gp? I’m freaking out over every little thing.. like feeling less sick today. My old gp was going to be all over this but he retired and no one told me now I have another stupid do nothing dr

@Toria33

Can you not go back to the consultant you were under after your third MC? If the GP is not playing ball and you can’t get what you need from the midwife/hospital then I don’t see what other option you have.

I understand your anxiety, truly! This is time sensitive, go straight to private.

Toria33 · 18/07/2022 13:01

I’m not sure where to go. Fir my gynaecology surgery I went to Oxford manor hospital. Fir fertility checks Oxford fertility. I could only find someone at Chiltern view who doesn’t have appointments until the end of August

@Toria33
I have had 4 miscarriages, I'm now 17 weeks never got past 10 weeks I wss on progesterone from bfp to 16 weeks, it's not a case of not needing them app it's a must after so many miscarriages but my doc would not give me them I got them of a rmc, hope the pregnancy goes well for you xx

Pollywoddles · 18/07/2022 15:30

I’d try Oxford fertility. They would regularly prescribe those drugs to women undergoing treatment with them.

Pollywoddles · 18/07/2022 15:34

Or try a private obstetrician.

Toria33 · 18/07/2022 16:56

When I previously asked for assistance with a natural pregnancy they said no. Although I was asking for a scan at the time

@Toria33 I just had a private scan. Cost £70 but was fed up of the NHS to get me in for a scan. I'm 8.1 weeks and very clear heartbeat.
Will put your mind at ease.
If you can, book private x

Toria33 · 18/07/2022 20:25

I was thinking the same nothing is as reassuring. Waiting out the heat wave.
turns out I also have a ecoli infection and dr turner (who is meant to not touch my medical records by my request) proscribe nitrofurantoin without talking to me and if it causes harm to a full ready to be born fetus I want nothing to do with it. There is some evidence that it causes genetic issues in first trimester but their out of date book doesn’t say that.

Hi there, do you mind sharing with which clinic you monitored your early pregnancy?

stormelf · 25/07/2022 09:06

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I am very sorry about your previous losses. I had seven miscarriages before dd1, like you all before the 7 week mark. I actually found out I was pregnant with dd1 at a fertility clinic appointment to investigate the reason for the recurrent miscarriages. The nurse at the clinic automatically referred me to the epu clinic where I was offered a scan at 8 weeks and then was scanned every two weeks until 16 weeks (16 weeks is the cut off for the epu in my area). Is there an epu where you can be referred or self refer in your area? I found the scans very reassuring especially as I bled throughout my pregnancy with dd1

Toria33 · 25/07/2022 13:45
