Hi all. Sorry for the TMI ahead of time. So I know a change in discharge is a big thing in pregnancy cause of all the hormones but when should I start being concerned? I am occasionally get a few lumps of discharge that is just like a bit of cottage cheese but not enough to be fully. No smell, not other signs of an infection and sometimes and offish colour I can't put my finger on if it is a different colour. Is this just normally with a bit more kick cause of the hormones? Or could it be an infection that I need to look at.

I'd say either normal pregnancy discharge or mild thrush. Try a Canesten pessary and see if it clears it.

@Regenbogen22 Thank you :) is that something I can get over the counter or at a pharmacy?

Yeah it's just your basic thrush treatment, available in pharmacies, Boots etc. You don't mention how many weeks pregnant you are....if noticeably pregnant you might want to send someone else to get it. Some places don't like giving it to pregnant women and will say you need a prescription.

Note, no oral tablets should be taken. Just the vaginal pessary and the external cream.

(No offence, I'm somewhat amazed that you've never had thrush and are not familiar with Canesten! Lucky! 😁)

Your midwife (or go) can get you to do a swab to confirm thrush. They will then do you a prescription for treatment (which is a pessary) - I've had it twice already in my pregnancy. Swabs take about 6 days to come back but I'd rather get confirmation of it being thrush rather than anything else more sinister :)
