27 weeks today and movements feel different

I was only in last Monday for monitoring and all was fine. Since then she's been happily booting me every morning when I wake up, today something is different though, she didn't wake me up with any kicks and the odd one I have felt has been really light.
Does this count as reduced movements ? I feel like I'm always at the hospital

Give the hospital a ring. Don't worry about going in too often, you're the only person who can monitor the baby's movement and if you're worried you should go in.

Any change in pattern or frequency should be checked out. Please call them they'll be happy to see you and reassure you

I've just had some breakfast. If she starts moving around after should I leave it or still go in?
This is where I get confused, if the movements have been reduced but then they start moving around again does that mean I should leave it or still go and get them checked...

I’d always suggest giving triage or your midwife a call if you’re worried. But, when I asked my midwife about movements she said they don’t really worry before 28 weeks as it’s not until then that a pattern typically forms. They also aren’t worried if the movement is lighter in feeling as it could be the baby has just changed position. She said that movement is movement, I.e. if you feel a swish, a kick, a wriggle, it’s all movement. She also said that if I had worries about reduced movement to drink an ice cold glass of water, lie on my left side with my hands on my belly, and if I’m still not happy with movements after 30 mins to an hour to then call/go in for monitoring. As I say though, I’d still suggest calling if you’re worried, it’s what they’re there for.

No no I think you should go to the hospital just to be safe. Please don't worry about being in hospital. If needs be then you have to and yes I would count it as reduced movements.

The baby has likely changed position, and if you’re getting movement now I’m sure everything is fine.

However, if you feel worried you should always go in. As you will get yourself worked up otherwise, and the midwives usually encourage you to get checked.

Every time I’ve had reduced movements I’ve looked for reassurance from others, but no one will ever tell you not to go in. So you need to trust your gut.

If you’re worried, go in. If you feel things are more active now and you’re no longer worried, then perhaps not.

At 32 weeks now I’ve had to accept that my baby has quiet days. I’ve been in 3 times for monitoring over the last few weeks, and had a scan because of it.

If I went in every time she was quiet, it would be almost every day. So it is difficult to deal with that anxiety. But you do get to know what your baby is like, and you get a sense of whether things are ok - or if you need checking.

I’m sure everything is fine, but if you’re sat there feeling worried after lunch, then go in. I often find eating helps get baby going!

Just to update - I went on the monitor and met the criteria at first, she was moving a little bit most of the movements I could hear and not feel. Then her heart rate dropped off the monitor so I had to stay on for an hour but she really ramped up in that hour and was having a party.
They then scanned me and said she is in a really funny position which is why I'm not feeling her much, she was curled up with her legs behind her head but sprawled our like a frog and her head is directly on my bladder hence me constantly going for a wee !
But she seems fine and currently measuring on the 90th percentile and 2lbs 8ozs

Thanks you for everyone's advice

@jimmyeatworld aww bless so glad she's okay. Always remember to go even if you think you're being paranoid for reduced movements. It's always better to be safe x
