Did you have good days with hyperemesis?

Am 7+4 with 3rd pregnancy, having suffered from hyperemesis with my first (but that was nearly 18 years ago and so I can't remember much of the details other than it was horrific.) I''m having some days where I'm throwing up constantly, not holding water down etc. Then I seem to get over it and feel fine for a few days. I can't remember this the last time, but it may be because I'm so early on... Or it may be that it's not going to be so bad.

Did you have normal days with hyperemesis?

Sadly there were no such things as good days for me with my hyperemesis. From 6 weeks until 22 weeks I was bed bound and could barely eat. Medication did help with the vomiting but the nausea was constant. I am now 27 weeks and still on the meds and still no good days haha. Just days where I don’t feel as crap, but the gnawing nausea is always there :(

I found that it was easier to function by vomiting and eating small amounts rather than being dependent on pills and being bedridden. The tablets made me sleepy. There were some days that were okay and some which were not. Please rest and sleep well. This too shall pass.

Thanks for replying. I'm feeling okay today, which makes me think (hope with all my might) that it's not HG.
ChloeHel that sounds so awful and familiar. I am pretty sure that I was hospitalised by this point in pg1. Also know what you mean about the nausea... If it was just five minutes of nausea and then a vom to clear it up, it would be okay, but it feels like the nausea just goes on and on.
Thanks to you too heartbroken - I don't know if it's the tablets that are exhausting me or the previous few days loss of appetite/vomiting. I checked my weight this morning and I've lost a stone and a half in 2 and a half weeks (probably a lot of water weight but still...)

@Maggit I know it can be concerning but hopefully when it starts to calm down at week 14 you'll be okay and start putting on weight. What sort of things are you able to eat? Don't worry about living on snacks or junk food for now so long as u get energy back up. I wasn't happy with my weight when I got pregnant so every time I vomited I thought yeah atleast the pounds are going to drop. I lost 2 stones in the early stages only to put it back on midway once baby grew. I hope you're okay hg sickness is horrible but you're going to have to stay strong. Unfortunately I terminated my pregnancy as I had really bad urine infection, hg sickness and high blood pressure. I was really ill. I couldn't take antibiotics for the urine infection because of vomiting which made me more and more ill. I felt like somebody was blending my ribs in a blender..the pain was excruciating at 7 weeks. With the hg in previous pregnancies all I can remember is ordering dry chicken panini sandwiches from a brunch place local to me.It was the only think I could eat for a bit...but atleast it was something...I couldn't prepare my own food...so it got expensive but atleast I have my lovely baby no 2 here with me...

I did. On and off for four months. Then last baby, 2 days then nothing at all.

Thanks all for sharing. Your situation resonates heartbroken because I'm a single mother of 2 older DC (early and late teens.) This is an unplanned pg and though partner is supportive, he works away. After the first bout of sickness, I saw my GP and after a chat with her, decided on termination, based on the fact that I wouldn't be able to care for my existing DC if I had hyperemesis. GP was fucking useless and inappropriate... She was judgmental about the fact that I was finding it a difficult call to make. She did, however, prescribe me some cyclizine, and I haven't thrown up since then. I'm booked in for a termination but there's a waiting list that will mean that my consultation won't happen until I'm 9 weeks.
If I knew I was going to have a pregnancy full of sickness, I would have to terminate, although I really don't want to. But I don't know and won't know will I. It just feels so fucked up to be considering a termination when I have the money, emotional and practical strength and desire to have this baby.

I think by 9 weeks you will definitely know if that pregnancy causes sickness. I found less with each pregnancy.
