Large baby should I be worried

So apologies in advance if this has been asked before by people but I'm hoping for some advice or actual experiences that people have had, I'm currently 33 weeks today had an extra growth scan yesterday as litre man is measuring on the higher side of the chart so they're keeping an eye, he's measuring on the 97th percentile, and his weight is roughly 5lb 5 so they're doing another gtt on Next week to rule out diabetes.
Without sounding selfish this has been something I've wanted for a long long time and now it's finally happening I'm a tad nervous that I won't get to experience the whole birth plan that I'd like to....I'd prefer a natural delivery (nothing wrong with c section at all it's just not for me) but it seems now I'm likely to be induced early and if he is larger again by then then he's at risk of shoulder distosia in delivery.
So I suppose what I'm asking is .....What is the likely hood that I'll be able to carry on naturally and deliver? I know everyone is different hence why I have asked for some personal experiences if people can, I just want to put my mind at ease I suppose a little.

The other thing is is there anything I can do to help him not put on so much weight?

I don't think they can properly tell what weight your baby will be. No one ever flagged anything with me and my baby was born 10lb 10oz! I had a c section because after a 3 day induction nothing was happening I only got to 1cm dilated and baby was showing signs of distress. The section was a actually a lovely calm experience and I had skin to skin with him straight away and recovery was fine, I actually wouldn't change a thing about the birth. He's 5 now, tallest in his class and in age 7-8 clothes! Good luck xx

I've been for another scan today and I asked not to be given the predicted weights but baby is still measuring big so they have offered induction. I'm booked in for Thursday which will be 38 weeks. It was a really positive appointment though and the doctor talked us through the options thoroughly but without being too scary. Sounds like you are in a good place @smileygirl1995. I think the worst thing you can do at this point is let it get into your head. Fingers crossed for a negative gtt!

So thankfully my gtt was all clear so I'm feeling a bit more positive about that, I do personally think because his head is measuring large (his dad) has a long oval like head so I think he's got his shape head from the looks of it in pictures and measurements wise. I do believe that is what is throwing the charts out slightly, I'm no expert so I don't know but I feel that needs to be taken onto consideration slightly and so far it doesn't seem to be...I don't know...
I have another scan and appointment with the consultant just after in a few weeks time so I'll find out then if he's put on more weight and if they are likely to induce. I've gotten my head around that now and I don't mind as I'll know a day I suppose so in that way it's nice, it's just the thought of a c/section that I really don't want, that's my biggest thing for them to know. Can't wait to meet him now! Xx

@smileygirl1995 I was due to be induced a few days ago but my baby arrived spontaneously earlier that day. I also thought a large head or long legs were throwing the measurements but in the end she is nicely proportioned and over a pound lighter than they had estimated 3 days earlier. They are just estimates. Goof news on the gtt and hope your appointment goes well

I'd take a C section.. my baby had shoulder dystocia and it was absolutely horrific. She was born in respiratory distress and I didn't get to see her for hours after she was born.
Not trying to scare you but most important thing is getting the baby out safely. I had a natural birth and I will never, ever be having another one after what happened. FWIW she was 9lb 6oz
