Yeast infection - help!

Hey guys

Over the weekend I’ve had a very uncomfortable yeast infection develop. I’m 18 weeks pregnant.

I’ve messaged the midwife but she never replies.

Any tips for what I can do to relieve it? Should I reach for the yoghurt? I know you can’t take any oral medications while pregnant. Do I need to go to the GP?

Thanks 🙏🏻

You can use pessaries and cream. It's advised to insert the pessary with your fingers rather than the applicator

Safe side go to the GP. Or if possible go to a and e. I had a bad urine infection during pregnancy and the quickest way I got anything was via a&e.

You can buy in the supermarket. No way would I go via A&E

Just get normal thrush treatment from the pharmacy! Pessary and cream! No need for a&e 😱

Are you sure it’s thrush? Thrush is easily treated and fairly harmless, but other infections can cause premature labour.

If you haven’t had thrush before and aren’t 100% confident that is what it is then get an emergency appointment with your GP.

Thanks everyone! I knew I’d get a response faster on MN than off the midwife haha. I will head to the pharmacy before they close then 😊

Don’t go to A&E! Who would suggest such a thing, honestly this is why the NHS is on its knees.

Ask at the pharmacy, you don’t need a GP for this.

@Nellynoo182 don't tell them that you're pregnant, when you're in the pharmacy, some places won't give out thrush treatment if so. Just FYI!
