Hey!

Firstly, sorry you are feeling so rubbish, pregnancy sickness is the absolute worst! I had pretty severe sickness in pregnancy all the way to delivery so have a few tricks that might be able to help!

  1. Find a safe food for you- usually something carb like, something you are craving etc. It can change from hour to hour but if it's something you want to eat you're more likely to keep it down I found. Ice cold drinks worked for me, ice cubes and ice lollies too.
  1. Graze and snack on small meals! Depending how much you are sick, just having a nibble of something will keep you going. Being hungry makes nausea worse so just keep nibbling to keep something in your stomach at all times
  1. Don't be afraid to eat sugary things, drink coke etc. I found Coca Cola really helped settle my stomach and ice cold lemonade. It was also a way of staying hydrated. I used to take tiny sips throughout the day.
  1. If it's getting so bad you are not eating or drinking and are getting dehydrated, seek help from your doctor or midwife. I ended up having to go on antisickness meds, and doctors will prescribe them if you are struggling :)

I’m 8 weeks and have this every day, so I really feel for you. This is what helps me:

  • Icy water with a straw so that you don’t gulp it

  • Pukka ginger, lemon and honey tea

  • Having a full stomach (but be careful on that one as it could well tip you the other way)

  • Breadsticks/Mini Cheddars/Tangfastics

  • Fresh air and exercise

  • Don’t eat for two, but definitely sleep for two as tiredness makes it worse

Feel better soon, OP! Mine is starting to ease now; you don’t always have to wait til 12 weeks to feel better 🙂
