So I’m 22 weeks and for past few weeks feel li have so much saliva . Mentioned it to doctor at maternity app and he looked at me like I was mad and said he had never heard of it .. which made me feel great haha
anyway today I literally opened my mouth and drooled down one side of my face - heard of this asleep but never awake 🤣 is this normal ? Anyone else ?!

My friend had this in early pregnancy and it made her feel very nauseous. Its definitely a thing!

USaYwHatNow · 03/07/2022 16:09

It's a thing! I had it for a few weeks when I was about 5-7 weeks pregnant. Went quite quickly though

Lkakpk · 03/07/2022 16:13

Thanks ladies , just weird for me it’s happening 2nd tri and not first . Very annoying !

I had this in the beginning and it was so annoying!

YessicaHaircut · 03/07/2022 16:25

Definitely a thing. When I was about 6 months pregnant I saw a friend walking her dog when I was out. Bent down to stroke the dog and dribbled on its head 😂

clopper · 03/07/2022 16:27

I had this and got told it was something to do with morning sickness. Had it for the first 4 months.

Lkakpk · 03/07/2022 17:10

@YessicaHaircut this made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣 when did it stop for you ? It just came out of nowhere today … caught me off guard . As an adult you expect to be able to control your mouth you know ?! 🙃🤣

I also thought it was a first trimester thing, but pregnancy is sometimes crazy 😅

Divine retribution for drooling dogs!

So ladies , today I seen a doctor ( fetal Medici jd specialist May I add ) and she had NEVER heard of it in pregnancy !! I mean wtf !!! It’s definitely a thing to be drooling 🤣

It is definitely a thing!

Even the internet pregnancy sites like what to expect mention it. I think these doctors need to go back to school (or perhaps use Dr Google).

I had it. It was worse in the first trimester but definitely still happening in second trimester.

MrsDrSpencerReid · 04/07/2022 05:35

Ugh yes I had it, I also had hyperemesis.

I used to have to spit into a hankie/tissue because there was so much and it made me feel so ill.

Print that out for your doctor!

I know right ?! I’ve had two very adamant doctors now . Crazy they haven’t heard about it considering it’s their field of interest and speciality !

I had this in late pregnancy!! I had to sleep on a flannel or muslin as I would wake myself from dribbling and have a wet pillow 😂

AngelaChasesBestLife · 04/07/2022 10:29

I had this too when I was pregnant but it was mainly at night. The worst part was one night I swallowed the excess spit in my sleep, which made me cough really hard. This made me have an asthma attack which was so bad I needed to go to A&E. When I told them in A&E what had caused the asthma attack they looked at me as if I was some gross specimen of a woman.

Fun plot twist, it seems to stay once you've had the baby (well, at least in my case!)

Lkakpk · 04/07/2022 10:54

This has literally just started for me around 20 ish weeks . It’s so fun !
