High BP at dating scan

Just wanting a hand hold/ to hear from people who may have had similar.
Had my 12 week scan earlier, dated me at 13+3. Been here for nearly 7 hours now on BP monitor. It’s fluctuating between 150/95 and 135/85. Waiting for bloods back before they’ll let me go home. Think they are looking for preeclampsia markers.
No protein in urine. Had high BP following both of my previous 2 c sections but not in pregnancy before v late stages.
Assuming bloods come back ok, think they will consider bp medication. Has anyone had this so early and managed to treat it/lower it/keep it in check/not had it lead to preeclampsia and pre term birth?
I’m 38 and last baby was 10 years ago so freaking out slightly I’ll end up being admitted and delivering the baby super early.
NT measurement looked good on scan thankfully which is what I was panicking about! Babies and curve balls ey?!

Yeah my BP is always high in clinical settings, but I see a consultant along with the midwives and the consultant accepts it's white coat hypertension as I take regular readings at home and they come out normal. My readings have been around 148/75 every time it's been taken so far and I'm 30 weeks now.

I had genuine high BP from 35 weeks in my last pregnancy so I'm on aspirin this time round. I was put on a low dose of labetalol last time and weaned off by 6 weeks post partum with no problems.

I had high BP with my pregnancies, I was put on labetalol from 8 week booking appointment with second when BP was 200/110 so very high! The medication kept my BP in check all the way through the pregnancy, they did say sometimes the babies struggle with glucose levels when born and ours did but he was also very small due to placenta issue which had been a cause of previous loss so I think that enhanced the glucose problem. He was all fine after a couple of days though and they said that it is still better to have the BP medication than not, my BP resolved about a week after he was born and I came off the meds. Never developed pre eclampsia and he was born bang on 37 weeks planned c section but again, this was nothing to do with BP, it was due to growth and previous loss.

It's horrible being stuck in hospital while they check everything but once they are confident they have a plan to keep BP stable for you you will be able to get home, being in hospital never helps BP either I find! Good luck and I hope you get home soon

Thank you, you’ve both made me feel a bit better x

Ah yeah @Overanxiousmummy just reminded me DS had his blood sugars checked every few hours while we were in hospital! No one told me why, but I've since discovered it can be the labetalol.

Asked the midwife at my booking appointment this time round and she said she had never heard of labetalol affecting baby's blood sugars 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

They are prescribing low dose labetalol and letting me go (100mg). I asked if blood results are normal and he said something about liver result but could be because of recent virus. Will hopefully have the results in my file when I get it back so I can research a bit!

Ah that's good @Pheepa, that's the dose I was on and it was fine until I was in for induction and they increased it at that point.

Hopefully it'll settle well for you and you won't have to spend that long in hospital again!

Thanks, fingers crossed. Measurements today have been better, usually in the 120s but still over 90 something. Started the labetalol tonight so will see how they go over the next few days.
maybe they’ll stay a bit high until the 3 working days have passed when I’m expecting the call about the high risk combined test bloods to come in if it’s going to!
