Weak wobbly legs in pregnancy

Hi, do some of you ever experience some leg weakness in pregnancy? I have intermittent lower back discomfort and thinking it maybe related to that, my legs have felt oddly weak below calves since 9 week pregnant, especially when I am walking, so I have to really watch my balance. I am 13 weeks at the moment and it's still hanging around, albeit less intense. So odd! Anyone had this in pregnancy?

Did you get a weakness in your legs before pregnancy? It happens to me once or twice a year - my leg goes dead when I try to stand up so I fall down. It has something to do with the way I sit I think. I was worried about it in pregnancy. When I was 16 weeks, I fell down and slid across the floor into a wall. I mentioned it to my GP, consultant and midwife, but they didn't think it was a big deal and told me to check my leg is OK before I stand up. Hasn't happened since

Annoying there no edit button! I forgot to add that my legs would feel a little heavy below the calf. I'd call it heavy rather than weak, but when I fall the whole leg just buckles with weakness

Oh sorry, that must have been a bit scary for you with the leg!
No actually, my leg weakness feels more like when the blood sugar levels are low it that makes sense? I am absolutely certain I am eating plenty and it's not related. I never had anything like this before pregnancy. I suspect this is something to do with some pressure on the lower back but nobody can tell me. Visited a gp already.

Yes, I had something that sounds similar and probably around the same time. I do a lot of walking so it was really weird when it happened because I wasn't doing anything more strenuous than normal. The only way I could describe it to my husband was it feeling like all the blood had drained out of my legs. I had to sit for a few minutes before I felt steady enough to continue. Mine eased off after a few weeks so I just put it down to my body basically being exhausted.

Exactly. The legs/calves just feel like all life has been sucked out of them. It's not like the sensation of "heavy legs"!
I put some compression socks to see if helps but made little difference so probably not due varicose veins developing. Thank you so much for reassuring me. Although it's been good 4-5 weeks of this nonsense I now have hope it will ease up :) xx
