Nervous for induction !

So I get induced tomorrow morning as nearly two weeks over due !

so nervous I feel like it’s the first day at a new job or something except more painful🙈🤣

any positive stories or even just information about what the process is?! I’ve had a sweep and lost the plug but nothing started naturally.

ive read that there’s a few different ways to induce labour - balloon, catheter, drugs ?

do you have to be on the monitor the entire time??

thanks for any info!!!

I was monitored every 4 hours before I went in to labour and then once in labour it was constant monitoring, I was induced with DD2 with the 24 hour pessary. That didn't work so I had 2 x 6 hour gels which didn't work either, I finally went in to labour by myself on the 3rd night of being in hospital. I didn't find the experience bad at all, the labour was much less painful than when I went in to labour naturally with DD1, I'd go as far as to say it was enjoyable because you are sort of expecting to go in to labour at some point and it was much more relaxed, no mad rush or it just happening by suprise ha

You will probably go into labour before then. An impending appointment will definitely bring it on today

I was induced with my last baby.

The staff were amazing, let them know you're scared and I'm sure they will go above and beyond to support you. Mine were fab and did so much to make it as nice as possible.
Everyone on here told me if I had the drip to ask for an epidural at the same time. I didn't listen and by they were able to give me one it was too late so definitely considered the epidural at the beginning if you have the hormone drip. They do monitor you and baby continually. In the end they put the monitor on my babies head and I was able to get into a much more comfortable position and was more relaxed which helped with my babies heart rate.
They also broke my waters which was an incredible relief. I was able to move around much easier with all the water gone which helped me labour in better positions when I finally got contractions.

Thank you everyone! These are making me feel so much better. Having a bath and trying to relax today, might pick a series to download onto my iPad and buy some more snacks for the hospital !

@TheQueensMarmaladeSandwich I’m hoping this is the case but I’m not holding out much hope !
