Hi everyone,
I'm a first time mum and getting confused about low lying placenta. I left my 20wk appt feeling very reassured, very at ease but the internet (damn) has left me a bit shell shocked if i am honest.
Everything was perfect with baby and towards the end of the appt when checking my placenta the sonographer mentioned getting me back for a rescan at 32 weeks as my placenta (its also on the right lateral side) was a little close to my cervix. She showed me my cervix opening and its clear but the placenta is perhaps a little too close, she did say maybe she was being a little cautious. She said 9/10's this resolves itself (in fact my pregnant friend had this and hers resolved by 32wks) and the sonographer was so unfazed by this and didn't give me any restrictions around sex, exercise, going on holiday - basically just a 'we will check at 32 weeks so don't worry, just go about your life'
But the internet seems to use LLP and placenta previa so interchangeably. As far as I am aware I don't have PP? My cervix is clear? It all seems very worst case.
I'm due to go on holiday in a few weeks (when 22 weeks) and now I'm freaking out. I have a midwife appt like 2 days before I fly (bit soon) and I'm not sure who to contact? I'm in Glasgow and don't have a direct midwife phone number - do I just phone the community midwife number and ask?
I also remember my boss having full on Grade 4 PP and she went to Italy at 6 months - how can people be getting such conflicting advice?
I'm not worried about the placenta moving, the stats are so reassuring that it probably will - I just want to know about holidays and basically living my life?
Sorry if this is a bit long - just confused 😅
