Is this a low chance ?

Thanks all, we had this done in January and currently towards the nearing end of our pregnancy with our first. I haven't shown or spoken about this to too many people about our results as I'm not really in that much of understanding about it.

Yes that is a very low chance. From what I can remember, they call you if you’re at higher risk and a letter if not.

Danikm151 · 08/06/2022 00:34

The letter says it means a lower chance.

Regenbogen22 · 08/06/2022 06:35

The letter literally says that your baby has a lower chance of having these conditions. 1 in 100,000. I don't understand the question 🙄

@Regenbogen22 my friend's said the same thing but unfortunately got unlucky with her pregnancy so I wanted to understand different perspectives. Not really something to roll your eyes at! Confused

It means your baby has a low chance of having those conditions but it doesn’t mean that they don’t have the conditions for definite.

Regenbogen22 · 08/06/2022 12:02

You asked if it was a low chance, and it says "lower chance". There are multiple threads here where women have been told 1/120 or 1/50. It's just probability and statistics, and 1/100000 is very low, which is what it says.
A low chance is, of course, not absolute certainty.
