Posted earlier but no repliees (coz of crap thread title)

assumed pains in my were notrmal pregnancy cramps, but according to babycentrre or whatever it is, a severe pain (woke me up screaming) as I had Friday night followed by more than 20 minutes of pain is dodgy? Haven't been able to walk properly since the cramp, have some bruising on my leg and periodic patches or redness.

NEED to be all OK as otherwise DS's have to be gotten up and DS3 has his 6 month BIBIC check tomorrow

Am 29 weeks btw

Aspirin is a no-no, can affect babies lungs

The symptoms of a DVT in the leg include:

  • swelling,
  • pain,
  • tenderness, and
  • redness, particularly at the back of your leg, below the knee.

from your description, I think it does need checking out. The being woke up screaming bit of itself doesn't sound that worrying - I had that when I was PG but the rest of your description does sound concerning. At the absolute minimum call NHS Direct.

i used to suffer carrying ds found standing up helped.
try eating more potassium found in bananas & pineapple.
some say its a lack of salt too, so salt your banana (only joking).
drink plenty of water as its supposed to keep the chemicals in you body better balanced and prevent a build up of acid in the muscles which can also cause cramp.
hope this helps i think it helped me at the time!

you back from bibic yet? been wondering how you were today..

Mmmmm I sometimes get a severe leg cramp in the night (not pg) and wake up screaming.

But if you haven't been able to walk properly since and have redness then you should get it checked. If the hospital also think it could be a DVT then you'll need a scan of your leg to confirm.

Hiys, just abck from BIBIC- PC down alst night typically!

Pain gone down a bit, bruising probably because MW phoned and left message to say iron levels dangerously low and need meds ASAP.

SHOULD have gone to hospital I know- had it been any other time I think I would have, but 11 pm day before BIBIC- a bit irresponsible really

I suffered from cramp a lot during my last pregnancy - but symptoms didn't seem to be as severe as yours. My GP took a blood test for clots just to be on safe side - and reassuringly came back as very low risk. It is always worth checking these things out - if only to put your mind at rest!

glad all seems to be well. Can't say I'ld have felt like dragging 3 young kids down to A & E at 11 p.m. myself, I must admit.
