Handhold Please

Hi, not sure why I'm posting, just need a bit of a handhold really.

First pregnancy- mc at 7 weeks
Second pregnancy- CP
Third pregnancy - my wonderful now 3yo daughter was born. It was a traumatic birth, I had placenta previa and after a really heavy bleed at 36w I had a CS under GA.
Fourth Pregnancy - MMC (blighted ovum) around 9 weeks
Fifth & Sixth Pregnancy - CP
Seventh (current) Pregnancy - Suspected ectopic pregnancy

I know I'm so lucky to have my daughter and she is the joy of my life but I'm really struggling to come to terms with the amount of losses I've had. I had all the tests done after the last CP and nothing was found so it is unexplained. The consultant has said though that once we know what has happened with this pregnancy we can discuss what to do next.

I'm 37 and as much as I want another, I don't think I can keep going through this.

Have you ever tried either clexane injections or progesterone? Both of these often help women who’ve had several losses. I’ve had multiple miscarriages myself (and horrible traumatic pregnancies) and I know it’s shit. Hope you’re okay OP Flowers

Hi OP, hopefully you've been taking baby aspirin and progesterone due to the multiple early losses? 🙂

maythe4thbewithme · 05/06/2022 09:59

I'm so sorry OP
I have a similar history
Pregnancy 1 - miscarriage 12 weeks
Pregnancy 2 - healthy DD born via c section
Pregnancy 3 - miscarriage 7 weeks
Pregnancy 4 - miscarriage 6 weeks
Pregnancy 5 - ruptured ectopic lost left tube
Pregnancy 6 - miscarriage 6 weeks
Pregnancy 7 - ruptured ectopic lost right tube (IVF transfer)
Pregnancy 8 - twins born 34 weeks following placental abruption

No cause was found for my miscarriage losses however my ectopics were definitely caused by scar tissue and adhesions from my c section - given the number of chemicals you have experienced and also now an ectopic it's possible the chemicals were also early ectopics which resolved themselves so could be a similar cause ie scar tissue from your c section?
Unfortunately we had to move onto IVF but did finally have success on our 5th round x

@ForestFae sorry you've had a crap time too. No, not tried either, after the tests after the last cp the consultant said that the next time I was pregnant they would give me progesterone once they saw a pregnancy on a scan. Unfortunately this time when I got scanned at 5+3 they couldn't see one. My bloods also went up slightly over 48 hours so that's why they think it might be ectopic, have to go back for a scan tomorrow to check again.

Will ask about the clexane though, thanks x

@Flederjo I took baby aspirin on the pregnancy with my daughter, sadly it didn’t help the 3rd or 4th ones x

@maythe4thbewithme Sorry you’ve gone through all that, that’s great you’ve got your twins now. That’s really interesting about the scar tissue, will mention to consultant, thanks x

Ah ok, then maybe the next thing would be to try progesterone?

Although all the health professionals I've had contact with have said to take it from 2/3DPO, since progesterone is needed right after fertilization and helps if the levels are okay before and during implantation.

Is CP cerebral palsy? Sorry I don't know the abbreviations. Just a massive hug for you OP, whatever you decide. I lost 2 at 15 and 7 weeks, the first was a molar pregnancy with loads of follow on complications. Just big big love to you. Perhaps a break and some counseling to work through your losses. Good luck with the current situation however it's turns out x

@passwordnotsecure CP is chemical pregnancy, a very early loss. Thanks for your kind words x
