Inhixa (enoxaparin sodium) during pregnancy with no blood clotting issues

Hi Everyone, looking for some advice. I am currently 20+ weeks Pregnant after two early miscarriages through IVF. I was prescribed Inhixa (same as Clexane which seems more well known) and asprin 150mg. I have no blood clotting issues and have recently been told by my IVF consultant (after previously thinking I was to take it throughout) that the inhixa was prescribed to help implantation and only needed til 12 weeks but that it didn't matter that I had carried on as it wouldn't harm me or baby. He told me as I have no blood clotting issues I can stop the injections and just stick to the asprin...

However, I am scared to death of stopping the injections. Has anyone else taken this drug or another anticoagulant through pregnancy when they have no blood clotting issues? Would you stop or should I carry on? He said it wouldn't be harming me or baby and I've read the drug doesn't pass through the umbilical cord either. Am I being daft, should I just stop? Is asprin enough to stop any potential clotting issues that may have been missed.

I feel daft even writing this post.

Any experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you xx

Hi. I am pregnant through IVF never took inhixa or asprin in the first 12 weeks (guessing as I don't have a history of miscarriage).

But I was told to start to take 150mg asprin at 12 weeks. Then inhixa from 28 weeks. I also had 10 days of inhixa at about 22 weeks when I had covid.

I am taking it due to a risk assessment the midwife and then my obstetrician did. I don't have a history of blood clots but I think my risks were my age (36) being an IVF pregnancy and being a twin pregnancy. Maybe also as I had preeclampsia in my last pregnancy. But this risk assessment would of been done at your booking appointment.

So don't think this medication does any harm. What has your obstetrician recommended? I was discharged from my IVF clinic once the pregnancy was confirmed at 7 weeks and all my care transfered then.

Hi @domino thank you for your message. My clinic prescribed it and the nurse who discharged us told me to stop all drugs apart from the asprin and inhixa at 12 weeks and continue those throughout. I only spoke to my IVF consultant after discharge because I was really struggling to get hold of the inhixa. He then told me I could have stopped at 12 weeks.
I am 35 and IVF pregnancy with a history of miscarriage so I am concerned. I'd rather take it even if it isn't doing anything than stop it and risk something going wrong.

My midwife and consultant (we are consultant led care) are both just going along with the inhixa. They both asked why I was on it and I told them the clinic put me on it. I think I'll call the clinic again on Monday to ask for clarification that it won't do me any harm if I carry on.

Hi @Lullabywish sorry I know this post is from last year but I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant on inhixa enoxaparin injections from 9 weeks and was advised to stop at 20 weeks, if the blood flow in my uterus is fine. I’m worried that something will go wrong if i stop at 20 weeks.
At what week, when did you stop taking it ?
