Hi everyone, I need some advice! I am 100% completely constipated, no movement what so ever in over a week now, it’s so uncomfortable it’s starting to really effect me. I’ve tried various things such as kiwis, all bran cereal, beans, orange juice by the gallon, fybogel (on advice of pharmacist) , but nothing seems to work! Has any one got any advice on how to get things moving? Thanks in advance

Glycerin suppositories and lactulose at same time. It's not nice but it'll help. Be aware tho, I needed lactulose twice a week from then on. Hopefully it'll be different for you. Also don't let yourself suffer post birth if it continues

I second Lactulose - I was constipated and still get it time to time

It's amazing stuff and works well for me x

Glycerin suppositories immediately to clear out what's in there, you may need to repeat the dose.

I have no experience with lactulose (heard it gives you wind!) But Macrogol works amazingly for me to soften stools. You may have to take something every day for a while.

Fybogel is, at the moment, just adding more fibre into an already full-to-the-brim digestive system. Stop that for a bit and try the other 2 suggestions.

After doing what other have suggested to clear out what is in there, I would recommend buying a bag of prunes and eating four every day throughout your pregnancy- it has really helped

This might seems like an obvious one, but are you drinking water with the all bran cereal? My midwife told me fibre doesn't work without water.

I made sure to eat homemade butternut squash soup at least once a week while pregnant (it's nothing but squash/sweet potato/carrot blend with seasoning). And homemade fruit smoothies. They say that bananas firm things up, but I've always found that to be a damn lie.
