7mm empty gestational sac at 6 weeks

I had an ultrasound today at EPU due to some brown discharge which has now stopped.
I should be 6 weeks pregnamt going by my last period. My cycles are usually 26 days long. 3+ weeks showing on the digital Clear blue test since 4 days ago.
The scan today shown only an empty gestational sac measuring 7 mm which according to the nurse is 5 weeks.
I was asked to come back in 16 days 😪 to check if the pregnancy is progressing.

Does anyone have a similar experience?

This happened to me a few years back. However I started bleeding heavily (clots etc) around 6 weeks. I went for a scan at 7 weeks which was private and they found an empty sac.. i then I had to wait about 3 weeks until the sac grew to a certain point & all the while I still had pregnancy symptoms knowing the embryo wasn’t there. It was really horrible and the waiting part is just torture ☹️. I ended up having an MVA to remove everything as I didn’t want to wait.
5 weeks is very very very early though. This time round I went at 7 weeks (because of what happened last time) and it was a tiny little bean with a yolk sac and I needed an internal scan to see anything. Hopefully the next time you go there will be a little bean but if not just know you’re not alone and you’ll get through it 🖤 x

Thank you for your reply @Aprildaisyx and sorry to hear you went through this.
Pregnancy is such a precious but worrying time.

I am still holding on to hope that maybe I ovulated later than I think although I don't believe it would be possible to ovulate on day 22 when my cycles are never longer than 26 days .
