I know it's not for everyone, and I know it's not guaranteed to work but I'm just curious when you can start inserting thr capsules ?

I have started taken them orally from 34 weeks (read this online) now 36 weeks

Some places are saying 37 weeks , some are saying 38 for inserting them?

Thank you

You’ll get terrible thrush or cause an infection. Having had thrush at 37 weeks and my waters breaking I wouldn’t…

Why? What benefit is this supposed to give?

PurpleDaisies · 11/05/2022 12:27

What?! This is not a thing!

MissBattleaxe · 11/05/2022 12:27

I don't think you should be inserting anything without medical advice.

DockOTheBay · 11/05/2022 12:28

I wouldn't. You don't want to give yourself an infection.
Is this supposed to help induce Labour sooner? Personally I would just wait for your body to be naturally ready.

If it's not on the nhs website I personally wouldn't do it

Heavens, don't be taking medical advice from the internet on when and what to insert up your pregnant passages. Talk to you midwife/GP or better still, lay off the Evening Primrose. It's really not a thing.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 11/05/2022 12:38

Erm, never?

rainbowandglitter · 11/05/2022 12:42

Whaaaat??

mumonthehill · 11/05/2022 12:45

I just had to Google!!! It looks like a thing you can do but honestly I have never heard of anyone suggesting it or doing it! Imagine firing capsules that have not dissolved at your midwife when being examined!!!

PragmaticWench · 11/05/2022 12:45

I'd be extremely wary of inserting anything that isn't medically advised or sterile. Capsules are not made and transported in a sterile environment.

I'd also be concerned about having evening primrose oil around your cervix when your cervix may well be slowly opening. Do you have medical trial report data on the safety of evening primrose oil for a baby, applied prior to birth?

I'm sorry what????
