Supermarket own tests

Do we think the cheaper supermarket own brand tests are as good as clear blue ones?

I did one test yesterday afternoon and it was negative (I think) and it was a Sainsbury own brand

I did buy a couple of clear blues to do if the Sainsbury one had come back positive just to check but i just wanted any other stories of accurate supermarket own brand.

Also I can't remember exactly when my last period was. I think it was the end of March, definitely not in April because I remember thinking to myself that I would be due around a friends wedding (26th April) and I haven't come on since

Only differences are peeing a lot (which I do anyway) and my gums being sore. This morning a massive spot popped up on my face too but im fully aware this could be before my period is due. Still no sign of AF though so very confused..

I think the general consensus on here is that the Sainsbury's ones are a bit shit. Clearblue also aren't all they're cracked up to be. Blue dye tests can be a bit iffy.

Most people hold First Response Early Results tests in high esteem!

@Regenbogen22 oh really? Thank you!
I didn't have a problem with clear blue in my first pregnancy but never tried Sainsbury's ones. I'll try another brand if I don't get AF in the next couple of days 😬

It depends how many iu/ml it can detect? Some cheaper brands need a higher level of hCG in the urine to detect (25iu/ml), whereas I think clear blue can detect as little as 10iu/ml. I bought some one step online, which are 'supposed' to detect down to 10iu/ml, but I had false positives, false negatives and even a whole dud batch! There was also issues with asda tests a few years ago, but not sure about now.

@MarmiteCoriander in fairness I did test at about 3pm and drank liquids before to make myself pee 😂

Never used them before so I'll probably just stick to what I know.

Last time, an ovulation test picked up my pregnancy before a test did

I think if your last period was in March then any test should give an accurate result at this point.
