Does this count as reduced movements?

I'm 23w2d so I know early yet. Movements over last few weeks have been pretty consistent and getting stronger. I usually have a good bit of movement on an evening but I had nothing last night. Again I normally get quite a bit early hours and I just had 2/3 taps. This morning I had maybe 10 minutes of light movement when I normally get quite a bit when I first wake up. Since then I've had the odd taps for few hours which is fairly normal throughout the day, I don't feel much when I'm busy.

I already have a 2 year old so don't want to make a fuss out of nothing by asking family to watch her (not that they would mind).

At my hospital before 28 weeks they say that reduced or softer movements usually just mean baby has moved into a place where you can't feel them as they won't have a pattern yet and they still have loads of room!

That being said, I did go in at about 24/25 weeks because I was worried (hence knowing what they say!) and they were happy to do a doppler check to make sure all was ok, but they don't do the monitor until 28 weeks +. So always worth ringing triage or your midwife if you are concerned!

Any change in movement should get checked out. At my hospital before 28 weeks they will check baby's heart beat with a Doppler and after 28 weeks will put you on the ctg.

Having said that, try not to worry about it, it is normal for their pattern still to be changing before 24ish weeks but you're always better safe than sorry

Hi, I had reduced movements at around 25 weeks. My baby was normally quite active in the morning but I became I aware I hadn't felt him. I couldn't relax and went in for a Doppler. Of course, the minute that came near me he was jumping about all over the place. The midwife said babies (like us) have days where they just are more relaxed / tired and not to worry. But, that I had done the right thing getting checked. For my own sanity I couldn't leave it. If you're at all worried err on the side of caution.

I had reduced movements a lot during my second pregnancy. He was such an active baby from the minute I first felt movements, so whenever he was quiet I would panic.

Most trusts won’t do a trace before 28 weeks however they will check babies heartbeat with a Doppler. I would give your unit a call and let them know what your experiencing.
