I've just been to the toilet and noticed I have brown discharge. I'm not really sure what to do at this point. I never had this in my previous pregnancies (1 mmc, 1 successful).

Brown usually indicates old blood. If you have an EPU give them a call x

Always get anything like this checked out at your EPU, they will be more than happy to check everything is okay.
I had this in both of my pregnancies, as the above poster said, usually brown discharge is old blood coming away. In my current (second) pregnancy, I had an early scan around 6 weeks and they actually pointed out a pool of blood above the uterus (doesn't harm the baby), and she told me it would either dissolve on its own or come away as a small bleed. It did eventually come away, but not until I was around 13 weeks!

I had this at around 6 weeks to 6+4, and because of a previous miscarriage I ended up being prescribed progesterone from GP (this is the new NICE guidelines so please push if they say no)

My spotting stopped 2 days after starting the progesterone!

@Annny27 it says on the guidelines that you need a scan to be offered it, was that the case for you?

Would you talk me through the convo you had with GP or whoever? Sorry - I just want to be armed for battle tomorrow!

@Chanel05 So for me I started spotting on the Saturday night just very light and only one occasion and I had a scan on Monday planned anyway with nhs due to previous complications. As it was only one incident I didn't think anymore of it. And then a day after the scan I started spotting again for 2 days brown and then that's when I called GP

I said to gp I was experiencing early pregnancy spotting and that the NICE guidelines stated that women who are experiencing bleeding or spotting AND have had one or more miscarriage should be offered 400mg of progesterone twice a day untill 16 weeks. She then called the on call gynecologist to confirm (which they did)

But if you see the EPU apparently they prescribe the progesterone there and then
