Hi all
I am 15 weeks and have been told I need to take 150 mg of asprin and have a high ( 1 in 35 chance ) of placental insufficiency.
Has anyone had any experience of this ? Can it turn out okay. I am so worried and the midwives have had no answers .

Thanks

Hi there - I have no personal experience but I know someone whose placenta stopped working properly. At 28 weeks she was given steroids to help develop the baby’s lungs so she could be born early. The baby is now a happy, thriving toddler.
You should now be monitored more closely to check growth etc, and if the placenta does become an issue they will assess the best way forward.
Good news is that they have spotted the potential issue and it’s a risk rather than a certainty, so hopefully the aspirin will help. If it is placental insufficiency, there’s things they can do to help the baby.
Keeping everything crossed for you, please update us x
