TMI warning - anyone else getting yucky green tinged discharge?

I'm 30 weeks and I asked my midwife about it yesterday but she wasn't very helpful - just said to monitor it incase it could be an infection and to come back if it starts to itch..

Any ideas what it might be or just a normal part of being preggers?

Now, even grosser questions: texture, stench, quantity and painfulness?

i would go back or see your GP if i were you it could be an infection and is worth gettin it checked just in case. your discharge should never be green as this is a classic sign of infection. HTH

Have had a touch of this but putting it down to a rotten cold.

monthlymayhem · 09/01/2008 23:04

Thanks for replies! Yousaidit - It's gloopy, like thick yoghurt but doesn't seem to smell! And seems to appear more often when I go for a no.2

Green is bad. Tictacsmum - snot doesn't come out of your fanjo however bad your cold is

You need to get a sample taken and have it analysed. It could well just be something as simple as a yeast infection but you need to check because infections can bring on early labour.

heavier discharge is part and parcel of later pregnancy, but green is not a colour you want to see when it happens. go to GP and ask for a swab

could be thrush?

Diege · 10/01/2008 10:06

I had this with dd1 at 30ish weeks. It was thrush (had swab taken) and GP told me that they do sometimes see green-tinged discharge with thrush. Hope this helps

Thanks Ladies, will get GP appt booked.

sounds familiar - could well be thrush. The GP might not even take a swab - mine just suggested canesten to see if that works. Have suffered recurrently though and the treatment never works for very long! BTW you probably won't be able to buy canesten over the counter if you're visiblty pregnant so will need a prescription. Think the link with No2s will just be to do with the act of pushing iykwim!
