How did I get pregnancy cover travel insurance?!

I’ve tried a few different sites. None will let me put pregnancy as a pre-existing condition, nor does it give me any option to add it.

Going away for a short break at 30 weeks. It’s a place where we have a holiday home, know lots of locals, have a local doctor, close to hospital, etc. - so we feel very comfortable going as long as we have ironclad insurance.

Ladies who travelled in pregnancy- how on earth do I get insurance for early labour, post-natal care and any baby monitoring in case of reduced movements?

i think I might be best just ringing admiral tomorrow.

When we went abroad I found that because pregnancy isn't classed as a pre-existing condition so you can't/ don't need to declare it. The key is checking what they do cover if you are pregnant. We are with admiral too and they have this info on their website www.admiral.com/travel-insurance/pregnancy-travel-insurance

They refer to 'pregnancy travel insurance' on that page but it's not anything specific, it's just their normal insurance. I couldn't find any insurers that would cover an equivalent to a trip to triage though, they all just cover early labour and specific complications.

Like the last poster said pregnancy is not considered a pre-existing condition. Complications like early labour will be covered by most decent policies (though you should still read the fine print) but there might be a time limit like 32 weeks. No insurance is likely to cover monitoring for reduced movements unless it leads to you needing more medical attention.

Pregnancy isn't a pre existing condition so usually you don't have to tell them. Careful with airlines past 30 weeks as some will want a doctors note
