Dried dates in late pregnancy - cooked or raw?

Ho! I’ve started eating a few dates each day in the hopes that it will help labour along 😆 I can’t find any info online about whether I’m supposed to be eating raw dates, or if it’s OK to cook them. I’ve been cooking them into porridge and baking them into scones, which I find far easier to eat. Does anyone know if this is OK?

I'm no expert but I think that's probably fine. Maybe they're more potent raw so you'd need to consume more if you're cooking them? No idea really, but that's typically the way it works with veg, so it might be the same. I'll be chopping them up and chucking them in museli.

They are a dried fruit like raisins and figs. No need to cook. Highly nutritious , lots of minerals, iron and fibre. Also a considerable sugar hit. Better to balance them with a handful of nuts for some protein. Enjoy your dates.

Why wouldn’t it be ok? They’re dried fruit. It literally makes no difference. Eat them however you prefer them and enjoy!

The nicest ones are the medjool ones. You can often see them in veg shops. I'm a shocking dates pig for those, as is DS. Easy to eat raw.

Fine to eat any way you like. I open and remove the stone and fill with almond butter!!
