I'm 23 weeks pregnant with my first I was lucky not to suffer with morning sickness in my first trimester, for the past 2/3 weeks I'm starting to feel sickly right before bedtime I get the shakes like I'm going to throw up (also have a phobia of been sick) I'm not sleeping much I have bad anxiety that someone is wrong all the time I don't feel comfortable in bothering my midwife (I know that's what they are ther for) I'm just a shy person, the most minor pain I'm on here searching if thats normal which isn't healthy I'm just unsure on how to move past it I'm really not enjoying this pregnancy.

Symptoms ebb and flow. Googling will make you think the worst. Have you tried meditation or headspace etc?

You absolutely need to talk to your midwife! Don't suffer in silence. I called my midwife because I threw up a couple of times past 20 weeks which I thought was odd as I hadn't been ill at all before that and she was lovely and reassuring. I'm not normally an anxious person but I've been anxious a bit while pregnant and you have to talk about it to someone or it gets worse.

@Pregnantpolly no I've not tried anything I try to keep my mind busy during the day think that's why it happens at night when I'm trying to settle

@Cakecakecheese yeah I never suffered with anxiety before now I feel like I don't want to bother her over something stupid when she could be dealing with a more serious matter

I got that throughout my pregnancy and I still get it 9 months later. I had gestational diabetes and I'm not sure if it was related but I don't think so - it seems to happen when I'm very tired which obviously is quite often when you're pregnant or have a young baby. It would always be worse after lying down so I'd lie down to put DS to bed and would instantly feel so nauseous like the room is spinning. I never actually threw up from it though.

When are you eating? and how much?

I’m 30 weeks and get sickness as soon as I lie down in bed caused by indigestion. I have had to move my evening meal an hour earlier, and be careful to not eat until I’m full. I have some rennies after dinner too.

could this be it?

ckx · 22/04/2022 16:53

@Suprima I don't really have a set time for when I eat just when I get hungry sometimes that can be late, but I'm a sucker for chocolate I snack on it all day, I will try eating small positions earlier and see if it makes a difference thankyou.

Nothing is 'stupid'. I guarantee a midwife would rather hear every little thing than have someone not want to bother them.

Yes, do - low or high blood sugar can make you feel very unwell indeed. I do suspect though that your trouble sleeping is making you v tired and that's the cause. But I don't know your medical history and your medical team do - definitely ask them for help x
